THE ART OF M.A. MURPHY
Drawings in Charcoal and Graphite/Pottery

Drawings in Charcoal and Graphite
International award winning artist, Mary-Anne Murphy creates intimate, sensitive and detailed works photo realistically in charcoal and graphite.

She is able to visually articulate the tenderness of life in her figurative works, landscapes and in a variety of other subject matter.

Pottery

Mary-Anne is a Woodstock Artist well known for her detailed pencil and charcoal drawings.
Recently, she took up pottery and is enjoying the challenges of learning a new art form.

Challenging myself creatively has taken me in many directions.  The kind gift of a "beautiful pot" many years ago, has inspired me to turn left creatively, toward Pottery.
Endless forms, textures and colours will keep me striving toward my own  "beautiful pot".

Artist Statement

As a person and an artist, I strive for diversity.
From the creations of man, to the lines of the human form, to the peaceful palettes of the natural world - I see an endless array of angles from which I might approach, engage and capture each with my pencil.
